Kitchen Garden on Parisian roofs
The historic Parisian department store BHV is growing a Kitchen Garden on its roof
A big vegetal space will be installed on the roof of the building. More than 1420 m² dedicated to soilless culture producing fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs.
« It is an association which brings exceptional work with great ethic and grows splendid products », declared Alexandre Liot, BHV director.
The installation work will start in April, starting with renewal of the roof impermeability.
And the best part of it is that the store plans to make this space open to public !
Plants will be installed in June and the official opening in September. The fruits and vegetables will be sold to Parisian restaurants (a similar project happened in the Galeries Lafayette a year ago)
We just hope all roof of the capital will turn into prolific gardens
